The Board of Trustees of the Detroit Police & Fire Retirement System provides this benefit estimator to assist you in your retirement planning. The estimator can be used to calculate an estimate of the approximate value of the monthly benefit you would receive when you retire. The estimate uses current actuarial tables to calculate equated social security options and reductions for early retirement and beneficiary options. The estimate you receive is based on the information you provide. This will allow you to make multiple calculations of your benefits to determine the effect of different retirement dates, average final compensation and service credit.
It is important to note that the estimate information you receive from this calculator is an approximation of the benefit you may receive. Since the benefit estimator is based on the information you provide it does not reflect the actual amount you will receive when you retire. Your actual retirement benefit amount will be calculated by DPFRS staff when you apply for retirement.
The benefit estimate does not take into account any court orders such as Judgements of Divorce, Domestic Relations Orders or other court orders.
