About Us

The General Retirement System of the City of Detroit is a program which, together with your Social Security benefits, helps you and your family plan for the economic challenges of retirement, disability or death. A Board of Trustees administers the Retirement System. The Board of Trustees consists of five elected active employees, one elected retiree, a Citizen, and three ex-officio trustees.
