Trustee Election - 2021

Please read and follow these instructions to declare your candidacy for Active Member Trustee or Retired Member Trustee: 

  1.    Download the Election Rules, Election Petition, Election Calendar, and Notice of Mandatory Orientation.
  2.    Contact Gail A. Oxendine, Assistant Executive Director, via email to declare your candidacy.  Email address:
  3.    Read the Election Rules document very carefully and follow the directions accordingly.
  4.    Make copies of petitions to obtain signatures as indicated in the Election Rules document.
  5.    Familiarize yourself with the Election Calendar and adhere to the deadlines indicated.
  6.    Attend the Mandatory Candidate Orientation.  Teleconference information will be provided to you after you declare   your candidacy.
  7.   Submit your signed petitions by the due date in person at the Retirement System offices, 500 Woodward, Suite 3000, Detroit, MI 48226.  Petitions will be accepted by APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Contact Gail A. Oxendine to schedule an appointment.
